The Principle
Identification at the Touch of a Button
Smart ID solves an everyday challenge in diagnostics, training, and therapy: who or what is here right now? Without Smart ID, this question must be answered manually — by typing, selecting, searching. With Smart ID, a single scan is enough.
Person Identification
Every athlete, patient, or participant receives a personal Smart ID tag — as a smart card, RFID band, NFC sticker, or digital ID on their smartphone. When this person approaches a device or station, they are automatically recognized: the system immediately knows who is now training or being measured.
Device Identification
Devices, stations, or training positions receive a Smart ID tag — as a QR code, RFID, or NFC sticker. The athlete approaches the device, scans the tag with their smartphone, and the system automatically knows who is training on which device — without manual assignment.
Technologies
Four Paths to Identification
Smart ID supports the most common identification technologies — choose based on your use case and existing infrastructure.
QR Code
Printed on stickers or cards. Every smartphone can scan — no special hardware required. Ideal for devices, stations, and training positions.
RFID
Contactless via radio frequency. Range from a few centimetres to several metres. Proven for access systems, changing facilities, and fully automated station capture.
NFC
A tap is all it takes — within a few centimetres. Works with modern smartphones without launching an app. Ideal for person IDs that need to be deployed discreetly and quickly.
Smart Card
Classic smart card — robust, durable, and proven. Issued once and tamper-proof. Ideal for permanent person IDs in clinical settings and elite sport.
Process
Integrated in Three Steps
Assign Smart ID
Each person or device is assigned a Smart ID tag once — directly in the Datico® LIFE HUB. Print a QR code, program an RFID band, configure an NFC chip, or activate a smart card. Set up once, use permanently.
Scan or Tap On-Site
At the device, station, or upon entry, the person scans their tag — or the tag on the device is scanned. Via smartphone camera, NFC reader, or fixed RFID reader. The entire process takes under one second.
Automatically Linked
The system automatically assigns person and device and starts the configured processes: open measurement, start session, link data, create record. No manual input, no mix-ups.

Identification via NFC or RFID takes less than one second. QR code scans with a smartphone are also virtually instantaneous.
MIX-UP PROOF
Every tag is unique and person-specific. Misassignments, as they occur with manual entry, are structurally eliminated.
NO EXTRA HARDWARE
QR code and NFC work with any modern smartphone — no special readers required. RFID readers can be added optionally.
PEOPLE & DEVICES
Smart ID addresses both sides: people receive a tag, and so do devices. Combined, they create a complete assignment system.
