KIS Connector
Hospital information systems and physician administration systems issue orders — the Datico® LIFE HUB receives them and automatically triggers the right events via procedures. System-independent. Fully configurable.
The Concept
From order to event — automatically.
In hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and medical care centers, administrative processes run through management systems — HIS (Hospital Information Systems), KIS, or practice management systems. That is where orders are created: instructions for a specific examination, a test battery, a therapy program, or a measurement series.
The KIS Connector receives these orders directly in the Datico® LIFE HUB. Via individually configurable procedures — the central mapping concept — each incoming order number is assigned to a specific Datico® event template. The correct measurement or therapy program starts automatically — for the right person, at the right time.

From the administration system to a ready-to-start event in the LIFE HUB — everything runs automatically. No manual intervention, no duplicate data entry.
Any order number from any administration system can be mapped to a Datico® event template via a procedure — without being constrained by fixed code lists.
Orbis, SAP IS-H, Medico, IMESO, proprietary systems — the KIS Connector is not limited to specific vendors. Standard protocols (HL7, GDT) and vendor-specific interfaces are supported.
Procedures are configured and mapped once together with the customer. New order numbers can be added at any time — without system changes.
Procedures
The Heart of the KIS Connector
A procedure is the mapping rule in the Datico® LIFE HUB that defines: when order number X arrives from system Y — then create event Z with template W for the corresponding person. Procedures are fully customer-specific and can be extended at will.
Order number defines the trigger
The administration system assigns an internal number for each service — e.g. "#REHA-03" for a rehab test battery or "#LD-001" for performance diagnostics. This number is the trigger for the procedure.
Procedure assigns to event template
In the LIFE HUB, a procedure is stored for each order number that determines which event template is created — with which measurement instruments, questionnaires, parameters, and sequences.
Any assignments possible
An order number does not necessarily have to correspond to a single event. Procedures can also trigger entire series, measurement plans across multiple appointments, or combined workflows — completely tailored to customer requirements.
Use Cases
KIS Connector in Practice
Hospital & Clinic
The HIS (e.g. Orbis, SAP IS-H) automatically creates orders during the admission process for planned diagnostics and therapy measurements. The Datico® LIFE HUB receives these orders and creates the corresponding measurement events — the therapist can start immediately.
Rehabilitation
The rehab management system schedules measurement points in the progress protocol and orders corresponding assessments by order number. Datico® creates complete measurement events including questionnaire set and device protocol — fully automatically.
Performance Centers & Federations
Season plans and training periodizations from planning systems trigger the corresponding diagnostic events via order — strength test, endurance diagnostics, psychomotor assessment. The athlete arrives, the event is ready.
Clinical Studies
Study management systems (CTMS) create orders for each measurement time point t1/t2/t3 per subject. Datico® receives the order, creates the matching event set according to the study protocol — individually for each subject.

ORDER RECEPTION
Incoming orders from HIS, KIS, CTMS, or custom administration systems are received and processed by the LIFE HUB in real time — via HL7, GDT, FHIR, or vendor-specific protocols.
PROCEDURE MAPPING
Any order numbers are assigned to Datico® event templates via customer-specific procedures. No fixed code lists — full flexibility for every customer and every system.
AUTOMATIC EVENT CREATION
Each received order automatically generates a fully configured event in the LIFE HUB — with the right measurement instruments, questionnaires, and parameters.
SERIES & MEASUREMENT PLANS
A single order can trigger a complete series of measurement appointments — e.g. 6 rehab measurements over 12 weeks, or all t1/t2/t3 events for a study subject.
SYSTEM-INDEPENDENT
Orbis, SAP IS-H, Medico, IMESO, REDCap, or custom developments — the KIS Connector is not tied to specific vendors. Standard protocols and individual interfaces are supported.
EASILY EXTENSIBLE
New order numbers or service types are stored as a new procedure in the LIFE HUB — without system changes to the HIS or to the Datico® LIFE HUB.
