From Excel to a relational database – future-proof in performance sport
A practical example from the Olympic Training Centre Lower Saxony
In most performance centres, training and diagnostic data is scattered across Excel files and folder hierarchies – hard to find, nearly impossible to link, and tied to individual people. The step that needs to happen now is the move from this grown Excel world to a robust, relational data foundation. This webinar shows how that transition works – and why it pays off.
In the first part, Markus Stadler, founder and CEO of Datico, presents the Datico® LIFE HUB: how data from different sources is consolidated, structured, stored, and exported back to Excel whenever needed for flexible analysis. You keep the working methods you are used to – and gain a clean data foundation as the prerequisite for traceable progressions, reference values, comparable evaluations, and, in the long run, individual, data-driven training decisions.
In the second part, Dr. Sebastian Buitrago, Head of Sport Science at the Olympic Training Centre Lower Saxony, shares the practical journey: from an existing Excel inventory, through the import into a relational structure in the Datico® LIFE HUB, to day-to-day operations today – and what has concretely changed as a result.
Questions welcome afterwards.
